Barmah Park Cafe and Cellar Door

Sometimes you should just go for a drive and set aside time for a really, really good feed! Heading home from a Paws The Moment job on the Mornington Peninsula, we decided to visit a winery for a spot of lunch and a drink. We were so delighted with Barmah Park Cafe and Cellar Door! Utterly delicious!

He ate:
Slow roasted pork belly on a potato and celeriac puree with steamed greens, drizzled in an apple balsamic jus.

She ate:
Quite a bit of his meal.
And also…
Smoked salmon roulade served on a preserved lemon, caper, dill & pea risotto in a creamy white wine sauce.

And for dessert:
Choc black forest pudding
and
Yoghurt panna cotta with mixed berries

The word:
The smoked salmon roulade was much lighter than it looked with capers and dill cutting through and giving it a real lift. This meal was perfectly matched with a gorgeous chardonnay.

The pork belly smelled sweet but had a surprising (and delightful) tart side with the apple and balsamic vinegar. It was utterly perfect with a recommended pinot noir. Barmah Park Cafe had outdone itself!

The wintery atmosphere made us glad of our warm clothes while we had a wander through the vineyards. Even so, there were some signs of life on the vines to make everyone look forward to the fruitful season ahead!

We gave the chefs and wait staff a big thumbs up for excellent service and delicious food. We will be back! Check them out at www.barmahparkwines.com.au and visit them for a feed!
