The Living Room, Templestowe

The Living Room in Templestowe serves Australian Contemporary cuisine which they describe as “a little bit of something for everybody”. In our experience, the service is a standout, the food is fresh and tasty, and the drink list is extensive and well priced. On this occasion we didn’t have our camera, just the iPhone, but thought we’d share these tasty meals with you anyway.

I had the salmon with crushed potatoes, peas and leek, finished with verjuice beurre blanc and Romesco sauce. Ben had the 220gm eye fillet with a lovely creamy polenta, beetroot puree, roasted Portobello mushrooms, balsamic shallot jam and red wine jus. Feeling quite satiated, we found room to share the golden pineapple and macadamia cake with blackberry compote, pistachio ice cream and macadamia wafer.
